Golden Coast Villa2 is a detached luxury bungalow with its own private pool, set in a beautiful garden well stocked with a variety of colourful flowers and fruit trees. It is only a short walk from the beach and Polis town centre with its shops, banks, restaurants and bars.
This tastefully decorated and immaculate modern property sleeps six in two double bedrooms and one twin. The master bedroom has a Super King-sized bed and an en-suite bathroom. The second bedroom has a King-size bed and bedroom 3 has twin beds.
The property has two bathrooms with showers of which one is en-suite and there is also a separate cloak room with wash basin and wc. All facilities are on floor level.
The modern, light-filled living- dining area features three patio doors which overlook the pool and vibrant garden. It is furnished to reflect the Mediterranean setting and includes a dining table and six chairs, two leather sofas and a wall-mounted smart tv with access to a range of satellite channels.
The open plan kitchen adjoins the inside dining area and is fully equipped with a large fridge/freezer, oven, washing machine, dishwasher, microwave and ample cutlery and crockery for dining - particularly alfresco style!
Free Wifi is included and there are quality music speakers suitable for Blue Tooth connection.
There are air conditioning units in the lounge, dining area and in each bedroom. In addition, ceiling fans are provided in the bedrooms.
Outside there is ample space to ‘chill’ around the swimming pool with sunbeds. parasols and a garden table and chairs. There is a shaded terrace which offers a welcome break from the sun as well as providing somewhere to relax in the evening with a glass of something cool on comfortable sofas and chairs. It is ideally located to enable the less energetic guests to take the sun whilst keeping an eye on the more active members of their party who are swimming in the pool!
Golden Coast consists of ten similar privately- owned detached bungalows but Villa 2 differs from the other properties following the recent addition of a covered outside dining area with a wooden ceiling and inset lighting and fan. This not only provides welcome shade during the day but also an attractive, illuminated feature in the evenings for BBQs and for outside eating generally.
There is off road parking with a covered car port.
The nearest beach is a gentle eight-minute walk away and offers a simple beach bar with the usual beach facilities. For the more energetic, a twenty-minute stroll along the beach side pathway leads to Latchi Marina with its restaurants and bars along with opportunities to take to the water on boat trips, boat hire, diving, sailing and various water sports. Alternatively, Latchi can be reached by car in less than ten minutes from the villa.
Polis Centre, locally called ‘the Square’ is equally close by and can be reached in less than ten minutes on foot from the villa. The entrance to the Square leads to a number of restaurants/tavernas, cafes and bars which offer a variety of local food and fresh fish as well as breakfast, lunch and light daytime snacks. ‘People watching’ in the Square over a coffee or a glass of local beer/wine can be hard to resist.
Polis is well served with shops, banks, doctors and pharmacies. There is a large supermarket which stocks most items that would be expected in a typical southern European community, in particular fresh local seasonal fruit and veg. It has its own bakery, deli, butchers, fishmongers and a wide selection of excellent wines and beers, both local and imported.
GETTING AROUND
The villa is ideally located 50 metres off a minor road which is boarded on one side by orange groves and leads to the beach. It is just a short walk from the centre of Polis with an abundance of supermarkets, bars and restaurants catering for both local and international tastes. Polis retains much of its traditional role as the principal town for the region and has a rich history going back centuries which many visitors are keen to explore. Restaurants, tavernas and cafes radiate from its central square providing hospitality for locals and visitors alike and the opportunity to browse shops or enjoy a coffee watching the world pass by.
Whilst the local beach is close by, a stroll along the beach side path leads to Latchi Harbour with its busy marina and well-known fish tavernas serving an array of fresh fish and sea food throughout the day and into the evening when the sun set can be quite stunning. Watching the various activities of the boating fraternity over a drink or lunch can be most entertaining. The Marina is sometimes the setting for wedding receptions/photographs etc and was also the location for filming a recent episode of the Swedish version of Love Island. Latchi can also be reached in only a few minutes drive from the villa.
Beyond Latchi the famous ‘Baths of Aphrodite’ is a popular attraction and for the more adventurous explorer, the protected Akamas Peninsular can be visited on foot or by bookable, guided off-road vehicle tours.
Car hire is locally available for those who would perhaps prefer to spend some time relaxing around the villa and its environs but who may also want to take the opportunity to explore the beautiful island of Cyprus for a few days of the holiday.
There is a regular bus service from Polis to Paphos.
Activities available locally
In addition to the beach, the area is great for walking, cycling, wine tours and exploring the local villages and countryside generally.
Organised sports - Water Sports including boat hire, Horse Riding and Fishing.
The nearest golf course, Minthis Hills, is 25 minutes drive away on the outskirts of Paphos and there are alternative courses around Paphos for the golfers in the party.
How to get there
Most major airlines fly daily to Paphos from various UK airports which is also well served by direct flights from many European countries. Paphos Airport is approximately 50 minutes by road from Polis by taxi or car hire available for pick up from and to the Airport. Paphos Town is just 40 minutes drive away.
